Cozy Blue Scarf

Updated 1/1/17.  Pattern has finally been fixed!  Yay!  I apologize that it took so long and thank all of you for your kind words and support.  I'm also working on using this same pattern and making a big and chunky scarf.  Stay tuned!

(*This pattern needs some re-writing.  Unfortunately I am working too many jobs right now and I do not have the time to fix it.  I thought about just taking it down until I can get it fixed but if you scroll to the comments, someone left some helpful suggestions that should help you get through it.  I apologize for all the confusion my lack of editing on this one has caused and will get it fixed as soon as I can.  Until then, stitch at your own risk. *)

In my continued quest to make useful items out of small single skeins of yarn, I came up with another scarf pattern.  This one is actually quite bulky and cozy.  I used the entire skein and ended up with a 60" scarf.

Materials:  (1) 7 oz. skein of  Red Heart Super Saver.  Or any 7 oz. skein of worsted weight yarn.  I used light blue.

Hook:  H/8 5.00mm

Ch 34.

R1.  1 dc in 5'th ch, ch 1 and dc in same ch.  *Skip 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch.*  Repeat between *'s to end of row, skip 1 ch and  and dc in last ch.  Ch 3 and turn.

R2.  Dc, ch 1, dc in each ch 1 space, ending row with 1 dc in turning ch.  Ch 3 and turn.

R3.  Repeat R2, ending with ch 1 and turn.

R4.  Sc in each dc and ch 1 space.  Ch 3 and turn.

R5.  Skip first 3 sc, 5 dc in next sc.  *Skip 4 sc, 5 dc in next sc.*  Repeat between *'s to end of row, ending with 1 dc in last sc, ch 5 and turn.

R6.  Skip first dc. *Work 5 dc together in next 5 dc, ch 4.*  Repeat between *'s to last cluster, ch 2, 1 dc in turning ch, ch 1 and turn.

R7.  Sc in first dc, 2 sc in ch 2 space.  *Sc in 5 dct, 4 sc in ch 4 space.*  Repeat between *'s to end of row, ending with 3 sc in turning ch.  Ch 3 and turn.

R8.  Dc, ch 1, dc in 3'rd sc, *skip 2 sc, dc, ch 1, dc in next sc*, repeat between *'s aross, ending with skipping one sc and dc in last sc.  Ch 3 and turn.

To continue pattern, repeat R8 two more times, ending last repeat with ch 1 and turn, then repeat R4-7.  End scarf by repeating R8 3 times, finish off.
