Cupcake Slippers

 

How much fun are these adorable slippers?  I love them!

These would make great last minute Christmas or birthday gifts.

 

Supplies
Approx 2 oz. worsted weight yarn in mint- I used Sirdar Supersoft Toddler Aran
Small amounts of light brown, pink, and cream worsted weight yarn- I used up some scraps of Caron Simply Soft from my stash.
H/8 5mm crochet hook

Stitches used
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Single Crochet 2 Together (sc2tog)
Double Crochet 5 Together (dc5tog)

R1) Ch 3, dc 10 in first ch made. Join with sl st to first dc. Ch 3. (10 st)
R2) Dc 2 in each stitch around. Join with sl st to first dc. Ch 3. (20 st)
R3) Dc 1 in first stitch, 2 in second stitch. Repeat around. Join with sl st to first dc. Ch 1. (30 st)
R4) Sc 2 in first stitch and every other stitch around. Join with sl st to second sc. Ch 1.
R5) Sc 2 in first stitch (same stitch as sl st was worked in in row 5.) and every other stitch around. Join with sl st to beginning sc. Ch 1.
R6-16) Repeat rounds 4 and 5.
R17) Sc 2 in first stitch (same stitch as sl st was worked in in row 5.) and every other stitch for a total of 20 sc worked. Ch 2 and turn.
R18) Sc 2 in second stitch and every other stitch across. Ch 2, turn.
R19-34) Repeat row 17.
Finish off, leaving a long tail. Fold heel opening evenly in half with right sides together. With a needle and the long tail of yarn, stitch up the heel seam. Finish off, turn right side out.

R1) At back seam, join with a sl st and ch 1. Working stitches evenly around, sc2tog, sc 15, sc2tog, sc 8, sc2tog, sc 15, sc2tog. Join with a sl st to beginning stitch, finish off. (42 stitches)
R2) With tan, join with a sl st to first st of previous row, ch 3. Dc in same st. Dc in next stitch, dc 2 in next st, ch 1, skip next 3 stitches. [Dc 2 in next st, dc 1 in next, dc 2 in next, ch 1, skip 3 stitches.] Repeat [] around. Join with sl st to beginning ch 3. Finish off.
R3) With pink, join with a sl st in top of ch 3. Sc in same space, sc in back loops only of the next 4 stitches, sc in ch 1 space. [Sc in back loops only of the next 5 stitches, sc in ch 1 space.] Repeat [] around. Join with sl st to beginning sc. Finsh off.
R4) With cream, join with a sl st to beginning sc, ch 3. In same stitch and next 4 stitches, work dc5tog, ch 5. [Dc5tog, ch 5] Repeat [] around. Join with sl st to beginning cluster, finish off.
R5) With main color, join with sl st to last ch 5 worked, ch 1, sc. Sc 6 in each ch 5 space around, working only 5 in last ch 5 space. Join with sl st to beginning sc. Finish off.
